When I left for New Zealand, I had no idea what to expect. I wanted to fly over from Australia because it was cheaper than flying home first and then coming back, and it was a new country to visit. I saw all the Lord of the Rings movies and heard stories about how they rarely used CGI and instead filmed in live locations around the country. JJ´s and Cairns
My first stop in Australia was JJ's Backpackers, a hostel located in beautiful Cairns. But why does a hostel gets its own blog entry? Because it deserves one. Not only was this the start to my travel journey, I also learned so much and met so many people that I can't just fit it all into one small passage.

Life on a farm
I went to Australia to live there for a year. In order to extend for a second year, I was required to work on a farm for a few months. From cucumbers, tomatoes, blueberries and being chased by spiders. This experience has taught me more than just how to pick fruit.
