The first thing that I want to point out is that everybody has an individual packing list. The base should be the same for all of us, but we all Hike our own hike, so it can vary in items and weight. And no matter how many other hikers you meet that may judge your gear, remember: Whatever you want to take is totally fine. I have met thruhikers with a pack so heavy I could barely lift it, and other hikers who had a pack so light I wondered if they even had any gear at all. As long as you feel comfortable carrying your backpack and have all that you need to stay safe outside on the trails, you have the perfect gear.
